Your guide to the hottest new spots on Oahu — brand new openings, exciting moves, and big news for food lovers!

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or as seasoned as a local, April 2026 brings some exciting new restaurants and shops to Oahu.  From hand-roll sushi in Waikiki to a legendary chef’s comeback, here’s everything you need to know before your next trip.

🍣 NORI Bar Comes to Waikiki

If you love sushi, this one’s for you. NORI Bar, already a huge hit in Kaka’ako, just opened a brand-new location in Waikiki on the first floor of the Hyatt Centric hotel.  (This is the same spot once occupied by Ice Monster, the Taiwanese shaved ice shop.)

Hand rolls start at just $5, making this an easy, affordable spot for a delicious meal. The menu also includes nigiri, sashimi sets, a Nigiri Flight (a sushi sampler with 5 kinds of seafood), ahi tataki (seared tuna), carpaccio, and more.

One big bonus for early risers:  the Waikiki location opens at 7:00 AM and serves breakfast until 10:30 AM.  It is a perfect place to start your day, before heading out to the beach!

📍 NORI Bar 2255 Kuhio Ave, Honolulu, HI Hours: 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Breakfast: 7:00–10:30 AM / Takeout: 10:30 AM–9:30 PM) Phone: 808-707-8239 🌐 noribarhawaii.com

🍗 Hawaii’s Biggest Chick-fil-A Is Now Open

Yes, you read that right!  One of America’s most beloved fast food chains landed in Honolulu with one of its largest locations yet!  The new Chick-fil-A nestled at the corner of Kapiolani Blvd and Kalakaua Ave, is where Honolulu Coffee’s Experience Center used to be.

Because it is at a busy intersection, there’s no drive-through, but the dining room more than makes up for this with over 200 seats.  There’s plenty of room to sit down, relax, and enjoy that iconic Chicken Sandwich with pickles, waffle fries, and a lemonade.

Chick-fil-A, famous for its juicy chicken, friendly staff, and signature “My pleasure!” attitude, is now in the heart of Honolulu in an area accessible to most visitors.  Just remember, they are closed on Sundays!

📍 Chick-fil-A 1837 Kapiolani Blvd, Honolulu, HI Hours: Mon–Sat, 6:30 AM – 10:00 PM Phone: 808-909-3908 🌐 chick-fil-a.com

🥩 Tonkatsu Tamafuji — Same Great Taste, New Space

Deep fried food lovers rejoice!  The crispy, juicy tonkatsu at Tonkatsu Tamafuji on Kapahulu Avenue is more accessible now than ever.  The restaurant moved to the first floor of the same building, and the new space is bigger and better. Seating has expanded to 1.5 times the original capacity, with both counter seats and table seats in a bright, clean, comfortable space.

This Sapporo-born tonkatsu institution has been beloved since 1952, and the secret is in the details: special breadcrumbs, carefully selected pork, and the perfect frying oil. The result?
